As one of Britain’s most exciting motorsport talents, the West Sussex based youngster has added some impressive accolades to his CV in 2017.
Jordan has spent the past two seasons in America where he became the youngest ever British racing driver to win in a single seat racing car anywhere in the world, as well as becoming the youngest ever driver to finish on the podium in the Mazda Road to Indy Programme in the USA in 2016. With such impressive achievements behind him, 2017 saw Jordan return to the British Formula 3 series. Unfortunately, due to being under 16 years of age, Jordan had to miss the opening six rounds of racing. Whilst frustrating to say the least, this provided a gauge of just how big a talent we have here. However, few would have predicted the outcome once Jordan got out onto the track as the youngest ever driver to race in British Formula 3. The day after this debut he went on to record his first ever Formula 3 race victory and in the process becoming the youngest ever winner of a race in the history of the series. Following this record breaking start, Jordan went on to secure another four podium finishes, including two race wins.
One of the main issues Jordan has faced is a smaller budget when compared to some of the larger racing teams. Kinross have been acting to bring onboard sponsors to assist Jordan in his progress. In October this year we organised a golf day in order to get Jordan in front of prospective sponsors. Given his amiable nature and the undoubted ability on the track, there is no doubting that people will want to be part of Jordan’s journey to Formula 1.
It has been fascinating to see Jordan’s progress to this stage. His raw ability and professional mindset bely his age, as proven by his performances in 2017, and we have no doubt here at Kinross that 2018 will provide equally impressive development. 2018 will see Jordan taking the exciting step up to Renault 2.0, the next step towards Formula 1. Following the path of previous talented drivers such as four-time and current World Champion, Lewis Hamilton. Jordan has been confirmed as driving for Fortec Motorsports for the season and the racing calendar will see him travelling to Europe’s most iconic race tracks. Uniquely, the Formula Renault 2.0 supplies the feeder series for the Monaco Formula One weekend which will be an incredible experience for Jordan.
We wish Jordan all the best for the 2018 season and can't wait to see what the season will bring for one of the hottest prospects in British Motorsport.
